Road Trippin' {The Granite Belt June 2012}

I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel's sake. The great affair is to move.  ~ Robert Louis Stevenson
Hey everyone!
On Tuesday Trent & I were up early'ish (ok 8am, which is early for me) and then we set out on a road trip to Stanthorpe, which is 1 hour and 45 minutes from Toowoomba. The weather was cold & dreary, it was pretty miserable. But my theory was it's better to get out and do something even if the weather is crap than sit at home doing nothing!
So we were on the road, we got to Stanthorpe and visited the tourist centre, saw the brass monkey* and then grabbed some lunch.
After lunch we headed out to Ballandean to check out some local quirky tourist attractions... We did go to the Granite Belt maze but didn't end up going in, it did look cool though! Before we headed home we stopped in at Vincenzo's, it is a really nice spot to stop for some wine & gelato!
Stanthorpe tourist attraction list (well the ones I wanted to see!)
Road trip time!!
Rest stop time at Warwick!
YAY!! So close to Texas!! Well Texas QLD 4385!!
Made it to Stanthorpe!
Just me hanging out with the 'brass monkey' in Stanthorpe during 'Brass Monkey' season!
I thought this sign at the 'Country Club Hotel' we had lunch at was funny.

The 'Fruitisforus' at Ballandean...
The 'Pyramid' at Ballandean...
The Big Apple at Vincenzo's at Thulimbah.
Wine time at Vincenzo's
I found some giant kangaroos at Thulimbah!
Love road trips! Nothing beats driving on long stretches of empty road with good music playing and just being able to think!
Heading home after a long & good day out together! (Argh I can't believe this is the ONLY photo we got together for the whole day...)
Heading home in the rain. At least the rain held off until the drive home!! :)

And guess what, well I filmed our whole day as well! So check out the video below! :) Let me know what you think... (If you want to watch it on YouTube click HERE)

Ok well, I hope y'all enjoyed this post & video!
I liked filming during the road trip & 'bringing you all along' so let me know if you would like to see more of these videos & type of blogs!
If you are ever in the South East Queensland I suggest you hit the road & tour around the Granite Belt area...
If you live around Toowoomba, give me some suggestions for where I should visit!
Love you all.
*Brass monkey; a monkey was a kind of brass tray on wooden fighting ships that held stacked up cannon balls. When the temperature dropped below freezing the metal "monkey" contracted and the cannon balls rolled off, hence freeze the balls off a brass monkey.

So close, yet so far!! {Christmas Countdown}

6 months to go!
6 months until the best day of the year!
Which means like 5 months until I start decorating...
Yes, you are reading right... Christmas is now 6 months away!!
Now for some Christmas inspiration pictures thanks to my favourite website; Pinterest! :)

So I am obviously excited, I love Christmas y'all know that... So let the countdown, crafting, planning & gift buying begin! (Ok I lie, as normal my gift buying will be left until December, because I suck and can't buy a gift in advance because I end up giving it to the person because I can't keep a fun secret like that!)
So I can't wait for Christmas! I love it... Hopefully this December will be great, it could turn out to be a hard & tough time, but either way December means Christmas so either way I can't wait...
Are you excited for Christmas?
Do you start planning early or are you a December gift buyer like me?
Have a great day!
Love you all.

Wearing my heart on my... Shirt? Finger? {OOTD June 2012}

Hey everyone!
Do you ever have those moments when things happen and it takes you by surprise?
Well, this happened on a bit of a random shopping trip the other day. As usual I was just out browsing my local shopping centre and I was day dreaming about Texas (as normal) and I wandered into Jays Jays & sure enough there is a Texas (San Antonio) shirt; of course it was purchased. And the other thing I have been really wanting is some turquoise, like real Indian turquoise and I like the jewellery that have crosses on them. Anyway, I didn't get that lucky to find genuine Indian turquoise, but I did wander into Diva (which I rarely ever visit), they were having this big $3 sale and I was looking at the rings & found a really perfect one tucked away at the back & it was the only one left & was a small! Like Diva rings rarely fit me but this one fitted me perfectly, so I had to buy it! I thought it was so cool & it is unlike anything I own so I think it is awesome! Not only that, the cross to me symbolises my faith & the turquoise is a colour/stone I love & what was running through my head at the time I found it is just crazy, it's just all to coincidental and strange. So when I wear it, it reminds me of my faith, my future & what I love. Gee, all that over a $3 ring? I guess I just found it at the right place at the right time! Gosh if I love this ring right now, I can't wait to one day get real turquoise! Haha. I know it all sounds a bit far fetched and out there, but it's how I feel :)
So I combined both of my 2 latest purchases into an 'outfit of the day' video... So here it is...

So that is the video, let me know what you think...

Outfit details are;
  • Shirt; Jay Jays
  • Under shirt; Supre
  • Jeans; Guess
  • Watch; Guess
  • Shoes; Big W
  • Ring; Diva
I hope you enjoyed this quick update & video! I am currently working on 2 'Sister Tag' videos Nicole & I filmed last night (they need a fair bit of editing) so stay tuned for those!
I will also try and post maybe a 'dream travel' blog soon on Texas and other parts of America I want to visit, I've been getting more & more interested in travelling lately so why not share my thoughts with y'all!
Thanks for reading/watching!
Love you all.

Oh... PS; do you like the new header for my blog? x

Words that hold the truth... {Pinterest}

Hey everyone!!
Just wanted to check in & do a quick blog, nothing super exciting has been happening in my life as of lately so I guess that is why my blogs have been lacking. Sorry!
Lately I've been fairly active on Pinterest, it's always fun to find things that inspire me for the future... Even if 80% of what I pin I may never own, it's still fun to dream :)
I thought I would share some of my favourite 'quote images' I've found lately & hopefully they speak to you in someway, because they all mean something to me...

So these are some of my favourites, some speak to me now & some are reflective of things I've been through in my life, read into what you wish & assume what you will, but take note of the last one.
